By accessing or using the OptimalCover website, you agree to these Terms of Use.

Nature of the Service

OptimalCover publishes informational pricing reference ranges for Vehicle Service Contracts and may facilitate transactions for qualifying plans.

OptimalCover:

  • •is not an insurer, administrator, dealer, broker, or underwriter,
  • •does not provide insurance, financial, or legal advice,
  • •does not guarantee coverage performance or claim outcomes.

Pricing References

Pricing references:

  • •are not quotes or offers,
  • •are not guarantees,
  • •do not assess insurer solvency or financial strength.

They are benchmarks intended to provide pricing context only.

Transactions and Payments

In limited circumstances, OptimalCover may facilitate the purchase of a qualifying VSC.

When a transaction occurs:

  • •payment processing is handled by a third-party payment processor,
  • •OptimalCover does not hold customer funds,
  • •coverage is provided by the identified administrator and insurer,
  • •refunds, cancellations, and contract terms are governed by the plan agreement.

Any platform or transaction fees received by OptimalCover are disclosed and do not influence pricing references.

No Reliance / Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that decisions regarding VSC purchases are your responsibility. OptimalCover provides informational references only and makes no representations regarding suitability, performance, or outcomes.

User Responsibilities

You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with operations, or attempt unauthorized access.

Intellectual Property

All site content, including reference structures and methodology descriptions, is owned by OptimalCover or licensed to it and protected by applicable laws, except for the public Pricing Dataset described below, which is released under an open license.

Open Pricing Dataset — License and Permitted Use

OptimalCover publishes the VSC Pricing Dataset as open reference data under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. The dataset is available through GitHub, Hugging Face, and via the public website. The dataset, pricing reference matrix on /pricing-bands, and pricing detail pages under /browse are all governed by this license.

Expressly permitted uses

Subject to the attribution requirement and the prohibitions below, you are explicitly permitted to:

  • •Crawl, index, fetch, scrape, or otherwise ingest the dataset and the public pricing pages for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
  • •Cite OptimalCover pricing reference ranges in research papers, journalism, consumer-facing analyses, AI-system responses, and educational materials.
  • •Use the dataset as training, fine-tuning, retrieval, or grounding data for AI/ML models, including large language models and search-engine indices.
  • •Build derivative works, including transformations, aggregations, visualizations, and downstream products.
  • •Redistribute the dataset or derivative works, including for commercial purposes.

Attribution requirement

Any use of the dataset or pricing reference data must include reasonable attribution to OptimalCover. The recommended canonical attribution is:

Attribution should: (a) credit OptimalCover by name, (b) link to the dataset source or to https://optimalcover.com, and (c) indicate the CC BY 4.0 license.

Prohibited uses

The CC BY 4.0 license permits broad use, but the following are not permitted and may constitute misuse under these Terms regardless of any rights granted by the license:

  • •No misrepresentation. You may not modify OptimalCover pricing data and present the result as if it remained authoritative OptimalCover reference data, nor may you cite figures as OptimalCover's that were not produced by OptimalCover.
  • •No implied endorsement. You may not use OptimalCover's name, logo, or data in a manner that implies OptimalCover endorses, recommends, approves of, or is affiliated with you, your product, your service, your provider, or any specific Vehicle Service Contract.
  • •No consumer deception. You may not use the data in a way that misleads consumers about pricing, coverage, the nature of a Vehicle Service Contract, or the meaning of an OptimalCover reference range. Reference ranges are benchmarks, not quotes; presenting them as a quote, a guaranteed price, or an OptimalCover offer is prohibited.
  • •No attribution stripping. Removing, obscuring, or falsifying the attribution required by CC BY 4.0 violates both the license and these Terms.

OptimalCover reserves the right to pursue takedowns, license revocation under CC BY 4.0 Section 6, or other remedies available under applicable law for material misuse.

Disclaimer

THE WEBSITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OptimalCover shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the website or facilitated transactions.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OptimalCover, LLC from claims arising from misuse of the site or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which OptimalCover, LLC is organized.

Updates

Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
